Gliding Swiss National Championships 2026
Ready for the challenge? The SGL invites you to the Swiss Cross-Country Gliding Championships!
From June 4–12, 2026, you can look forward to 8 days of exciting tasks in the varied flying areas around Schänis.

Schedule & Competition Classes
- This year, the Swiss Championships start on a Thursday (Corpus Christi). The last flying day is Thursday, June 11; the prize-giving ceremony will take place on Friday morning, June 12.
- Maximum number of participants: 50
- The competition classes will be defined based on the registrations received.

- SoaringSpot SM 2023 (as an example of tasks)
Registration & Fees
- The registration deadline is April 15, 2026.
- Entry fee: CHF 250 / Juniors: CHF 150. Registration is binding; in case of non-participation, the entry fee will not be refunded.
- If you have never flown at Schänis before, please register in the Airmanager of Schänis Airfield (“Application for membership”).
- The Schänis price list applies (parking/stand fee is not charged for the Swiss Championships).
- If not all details are available at the time of registration, they must be submitted as soon as possible. In this case, please enter “TBD”.
Miscellaneous
- No retrieve service will be provided. Please bring your own helpers!
- Schänis has a short runway. Depending on the situation, the organizer may restrict the maximum take-off weight.
- ACLs (“strobe lights”) will be mandatory in accordance with IGC regulations from 2026.
- FLARMs are mandatory and must be registered in the OGN Database (glidernet.org).
