For body and soul
New building, new restaurant
The new airport restaurant with chef Kilian Senti has been in business since 2020.
Matthew Reiter, President of ASSAG, says: "We're very pleased that we've found a proven local gastronomer in the person of Kilian Senti who fits in well with us".
Rooted in the region
Kilian Senti already runs several restaurants in the region: the Traube in Benken, the Hotel Restaurant Post in Biberbrugg and the Berggasthaus Fuederegg in Oberiberg. For him, the airfield restaurant is a piece of good fortune: "With the Fuederegg, we have a ski lodge that attracts many visitors in winter. The same team will now run the airfield restaurant in the summer".
Opening hours
The restaurant is open from 08.30 to 22.00. The team is looking forward to your visit. The adventure playground for children is also open again. Weather permitting, there are always flights from the airfield. Action is guaranteed.
Broad-based funding
The project for a new building was launched in 2015. In order to build the new structure, around 100 new and existing ASSAG shareholders increased the share capital. "Around 180 locals, aviation enthusiasts and guests participated in the crowdfunding campaign organised at the same time. "The broad support for this project underlines the strong ties between the region and Schänis airfield, as well as our strong base," says Matthew Reiter.
An important meeting place for the region
Thanks to a well thought-out space concept, the new restaurant offers local associations and companies the opportunity to hold their meetings, conferences and seminars in a modern environment. Great emphasis has been placed on modern yet warm materials, making the new restaurant a cosy place to be. The spacious terrace features an unobstructed view of the air traffic, while the children can have fun in the new playground.

Camp & Fly
If you fly with us, you can also spend the night at our campsite.
We have shady pitches with electricity and WLAN connection for your caravan or motorhome for CHF 20 per night. Or you can pitch your tent yourself and get an electricity hook-up for CHF 5 per night. Shower/toilet cabins, a washing machine and a dishwashing station are available in the new airfield building.
